Smart India Hackathon 2018

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in collaboration with i4c, MyGov, Persistent Systems, and Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhni is organising ‘Smart India Hackathon 2018’ on 30th and 31st of March 2018. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has brought together 27 union ministries and 17 state governments to orgnize this Hackathon. The event will have 2 sub0-editions – a software edition and a hardware edition.

ISRO is one of the premier partners for the Hackathon. In a statement released earlier, Dr. K.Sivan, Chairman, ISRO has said

“Space Missions of ISRO/DOS have proved their usefulness for mankind. There are ample challenges and unlimited opportunity to students for improving quality of life of Indian citizens by their expertise and providing innovative solutions using satellite data and space technologies. Hence, ISRO/DOS has selected harnessing space technology for societal applications as the theme for SIH-2018. Sample problems are offered to trigger young minds for innovative solutions”.

Smart India Hackathon 2018 is considered to be the second massive scale Hackathon initiative in India and the winners would get cash prizes and a chance to be part of NASSCOM’s 10000 startups program.
